I had a good day.

So Yesterday I drove out to Oakville to pick up my transplanted Vancouver pal Beth. Then we Missisauga skatepark, which was quite enjoyable. It was the first bowl I’d been to in Ontario that wasn’t super mellow (that wasn’t Vanderhoof) and was somewhat deep. Not quite vert, but I was able to do some early grabs over coping, and I hadn’t done that since the night session three (four even?) weeks at Bonsor in Vancouver. I also did a first for me at that park, in the street section, ollied a step up. Which is not a big deal obviously, but it’s pretty good for me.
Then we trekked back up to Newmarket, stopped in a Blue Tile where both of us picked up a bunch of new kit, which we didn’t use at all the rest of the day, hah. Anyways from there we went to Keswick and jammed some there. I had a slam which made some health concerns errr.. pop back up, which made the rest of the day painful to say the least.
Then we ended the day with a Hoof session. Which even with the aforementioned pain, I had a really good session at. I 50-50′d around a couple corners that I’d never done before, 50-50′d over the waterfall transition into the deep end, and got some early grabs in that were coping height. Overall I was really stoked, the fifties were super fun too, because steel coping is so slick you can go on forever.
I was mostly stoked that I had a pal to skate with all day. When you have someone else to get stoked on skating it just makes you push yourself that much more. Definatly followed Beth for a few chase runs with her digital camera filming, and it reminded me how much I like doing chase runs filming people. Hopefully she throws them online eventually, and I’ll post ‘em up here.
Well. Happy Thanksgiving pals, Reilly and A-Pal: you’d best be going to Wendy’s today, I might stop by there for a quick lunch.
